County Club, a new to us restaurant in Lexington, Kentucky. One of our things as a couple is trying new places in town. Eclectic little dives are popping up, becoming very mainstream and trendy. Mixed crowds make up a very intersting clientel at these places. Unpretentious, relaxed enviornments make it easy to go eat in workout clothes or a dress and heels.
The foods at the County Club epitomize the relaxed enviornment. Comfort dishes like the Poutan below, fries, cheese curds, gravy, and beef made this dish so filling. The gravy was fantastic. Make sure you have a friend to share, this is definitely more than a serving for two.
The only negative to this restaurant was the beer selection. Some may not complain, the beer selection consists of some local brews, but we tend to like fuller, heavier beverages.
Ratings on Facebook show a 4.6 star average review, Google maps stars 4.0. We never eat at a place less than four stars, so I can say, they deserve higher.
Overall, County Club is a great place to visit, we may even go there again pretty soon. Really enjoyed the atmosphere, food, and service was top notch.
