Anyone who has made the transition to clean eating will understand the concept of the “food hangover.” That bloated, nauseated, achy, heavy, blah feeling when you deviate from your diet too much.
Welcome to my world. As I write, my head pounds and my stomach rolls. This was a test.
Paleo has been a struggle for me as of late and I’m not quite understanding the WHY. Well, to remedy this doubt and frustration, I decided to eat like a “normal” person for a few days. I’ve had enough.
For the last three days I have been stuck in a room with about fifteen colleagues in meetings. They are all what I would consider average eaters, so I followed their lead and ate what they were eating. Doughnuts. Chocolate. Candy. Sweets. BREAD (King’s Hawaiian Rolls. Tasty but SO bad!) Cakes. French Fries. Chicken Tenders.
I’m so sick…and I attribute it to the food I’ve consumed overture last three days. Tomorrow I clean up my diet again, always to remember how I felt when I ate like my average co-worker.
Water, meat, and veggies will be my best friends tomorrow.
