Growing up did you have that cranky lady in your neighborhood? You know, the one that yelled at you when your ball went into her yard or something like that. Well I think I’m turning into that lady. Its true.
Today there were 4 girls that were riding their ATV up and down our street. Well that in itself was not a problem. They weren’t driving fast or acting crazy….or so I thought. This evening I took the dog for a walk and saw these girls riding their 4-wheeler IN MY YARD! Yes that’s right in my yard. Now keep in mind it has been raining off and on all day so the yard was nice and muddy anyways.
I live on a corner lot at a 4-way stop. These youngsters were riding through the corner of my yard and when I caught them they were actually riding through my yard trying to catch a baby rabbit. Like the rabbit was going to let them get close on a four wheeler!
I was several houses away, walking the dog, headed back towards my house when I observed them driving in my yard. Once I got to the corner and realized the mess my yard was in my blood was boiling! I stood at the corner, hands on my hips, waiting for these girls to come back. In just a minute here they came. They stopped when they saw me standing there. I pointed my finger at them and said “You girls better keep your 4-wheeler out of my yard. Do you hear me?” (I think that last part was my mom coming out in me!) They just shook their head yes, put the ATV in reverse, turned around and evidently went home because I didn’t see them anymore after that.
Now I’m sitting here in my living room, unable to sleep because the young boy across the street is playing basketball….at midnight! Who can sleep with the constant thud, thud, thud, of the neighbor dribbling his basketball? Well my husband can, but not me.
I really don’t want to become the old hag who yells at all the kids in the neighborhood but these kids are driving me crazy today!
