I overheard a conversation at work today between two women, who were discussing what they were going to prepare for dinner tonight. One of them commented that she has to try really hard not to get stuck in a rut of preparing the same things for dinner every week. She said “it’s hard to be creative everyday”.
I couldn’t agree more! It’s so easy to get in a routine of making thesame meals each week. I’m sure it’s even more difficult when you have picky eaters, are dealing with food allergies, or a special diet.
There are some meals that I could eat every week but I try to switch things up so that we don’t get burnt out. I remember growing up we had hamburgers on Sunday afternoons after church. At one point I remember trying to convince my mom I was allergic to ground beef because I was so tired of hamburgers. (she didn’t believe me)
What do you do to keep your family from eating the same meals every week? I try to fix at least one new recipe each week. I would love to hear some suggestions from our readers about how you stay out of the dinner rut.
