Crockpot Red Beans and Rice
Here’e What You Need:
1 lb Dried Red Kidney Beans
1 15oz can of Tomato Sauce
5 Cups of Water
1 Medium Onion, diced
1 Green Bell Pepper, diced
1 package of smoked sausage (I used the turkey sausage)
2 Tablespoons Old Bay Seasoning
1/4 cup of butter
*I added some frozen diced jalepeno peppers that I had in the freezer. This is optional, just depends on how spicy you want it.
Dice the pepper and onion.
Cut the sausage into slices.
Rinse and drain the beans.
Throw everything into the crockpot. Cook on low for about 6-8 hours.
Since this is Red Beans and Rice, I made some rice in my handy dandy rice cooker as well as a pan of corn bread. It was just what we needed to warm up and my family devoured it.
