I am a single in a world full of marrieds. There is a stark difference in lifestyles, ease of life, and in general, how marrieds treat their single friends.
There was an episode of Sex and the City contrasting the life of married couples and their single friends. Basically that episode spoke of how marrieds are intimidated by singles. I’m not sure that is the case in my world.
Luckily I have amazing friends. Most of my married friends take care of me and always look out for me, which is great. And very appreciated. Being single is tough. Doing everything yourself is NOT FUN. Taking out the trash, doing laundry, cooking dinner, doing ALL the shopping, cleaning, taking care of the kids… I need HELP!
Which is exactly why my married friends are always trying to “hook me up” with their other token single male friends. It will be happening again this week.
Are any of you in this predicament? Are your friends constantly trying to find you dates (do any single mommas actually have time to go on a date???) how do you handle being a single in a world made for couples?
