Saturday’s are my day to catch up on the grocery shopping for the week and exercise my “finding a sale” muscle. This week was no exception.
Meijer and Big Lots were the only two stores I ventured into today. I went into Meijer without one coupon in my hand, but their mPerks program saved me!
Prior to going in I knew I would be purchasing baby food and juice. Little did I know that Gerber had a sale going. Buy $20 in Gerber foods and get $5 off instantly. Would have been a better deal had I used coupons! I checked mPerks thinking there might possibly be one online. No…but I saw something even better. Ending today was a digital coupon for dollars off general merchandise. The little one was due for a new car seat (convertible) and I had been sniffing around for a good deal. I found one that I ended up getting $15 off with the digital coupon.
When it was all said and done, I purchased the convertible car seat, packs of Gerber baby foods, and ye baby juices I needed, for $99 and some change. A success in my opinion.
We ventured to Big Lots to get a foam bath mat for the guest bathroom. I love looking at their furniture, because they always have brand names and sometimes they have great sales. I had been looking at this really cute footstool but it was way too pricey for just a footstool. However…today I found the floor model on clearance for $31! Wahoo! I was really excited.
No other purchases were made today. I made the decision that I have everything I need at this point. Since just having moved (and really still in the process) I found that I have everything I need and more. No more stuff!!! My closet is full of clothing I like, we have enough decor that isn’t even on the walls…the only thing I think will be needed to purchase in the next couple months are gifts for others and groceries, although it will be difficult to turn down a trip to the clothing stores I really like just to browse (and spend more money than I need to.)
Right now my focus is to MAKE money. Stay tuned.
