I love being able to share my travel experiences with our readers. Last weekend I took a mini-vacation with 2 friends, to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. For our girls trip, we stayed at The Breakers Resort, right on the beach in Myrtle Beach. This was the first visit to The Breakers Resort for all three of us and we couldn’t have been more pleased with our accommodations. I can honestly say that this is the first hotel that I have stayed at where I could not think of anything that could be improved upon. The room was very clean, spacious, and quiet.
We arrived at The Breakers Resort, around 4:00 PM on a Friday afternoon, the Friday of Labor Day weekend. I had read reviews online about how horrible the check in process was. However, this was not the case for us. I was able to get checked in in under 5 minutes!
The Breakers Resort has 8 buildings, 7 of which are at their 21st Avenue location and an 8th building a few blocks away at 27th Avenue. We stayed in the beautiful Palms building, which is conveniently located right next to the building where the registration desk is. We stayed in an Ocean View Suite which had 2 queen size beds, a murphy bed, walk-thru kitchen, bathroom, vanity area, and a living room. There was also a balcony which offered a beautiful view of the ocean.
The resort has an abundance of pools and recreation areas. Outside of the Palms building, where we stayed, was a large swimming pool and 3 hot tubs. As a guest of The Breakers Resort you are able to use any of the pools at the resort. At the building next to us, Pirates Cove, there is a DJ each afternoon during the summer and a pool side bar! If you are traveling with children there are other pools that are geared more towards children, including a Pirate Ship and Lazy River.
The Breakers Resort has several options for food and drinks. In the Palmetto Building there is a restaurant called the Red Parrot. You can even order from this restaurant and bar and have it delivered to you poolside! Across the street from the registration building you will find a Ben & Jerry’s ice cream shop, a pizza shop, Starbucks, and Papa’s restaurant. There is also a small store onsite to purchase snacks or items you forgot to pack.
Being that we were at The Breakers Resort on Labor Day weekend, I really expected lots of noise from our hotel neighbors. Thankfully we didn’t have any problems with noise at all. The only time we ever heard anyone around us was on the last night, we were able to hear the room above us open and shut their sliding glass door several times. Other that that there were no issues with noise.
I highly recommend The Breakers Resort if you are traveling to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. I’m already planning a trip back in the spring and will definitely be staying at The Breakers Resort.
