Occasionally I will walk into a consignment store in my little town and find a diamond. Nothing will quite beat my friend’s Valentino RockStud shoes she found at Goodwill for $15 then sold on eBay for $700, but I have found some gems as of late.
Burberry sweater for my son. A beautiful size 3T (90cm) wool sweater with mittens for pockets. Adorable. Guess how much? Twenty four dollars!
Christian Dior blouse. Eight bucks.
Kate Spade handbag, a cute little black classic, $3. Yes, three.
Armani wool pants, $12.50. These have to be tailored because I am short, but they retail on the Sak’s website for $575.
Several Ralph Lauren long sleeved shirts and cable knit sweaters in various colors, some with the store tags intact.
I spoke to the owner of the store in which I purchased the Dior blouse. “Why do you have Dior priced at eight dollars, and J.Crew shirts priced at twenty?” Her response made sense. We live in a small town, and albeit geographically placed next to a larger town that sells all these brands, people who live here just don’t know about these brands, especially those who might shop consignment.
I would say that these finds are pretty incredible ones and I’ve done well!
How about you? Found any consignment or Goodwill gems lately?
