If anyone is interested in beginning once a month or week, cooking, check out Once A Month Mom. This site is amazing! Once you become a member you have access to their menus, which include recipe cards, shopping lists, even detailed I structures on what to make first so the whole thing is easier. Disclaimer: I am NOT getting paid to endorse this website (although if they wanted to give me a free membership to toot their horn I wouldn’t say no!)
The April 2012 menu is the one I chose yesterday, just because I was already planning to do one of the recipes for my family. What a coincidence! I went to the store, filled up my shopping cart, and camped out in the kitchen for the day with the kids. My daughter introduced me to “The Walking Dead.” Like I need to become a TV junkie! Pretty neat series (and the author of the comic series is from the town we live in!)
Although it took some time, I’m happy to report that I won’t need to make baby food for at least three weeks. I’m pretty sure that the portions get frozen in ice cube trays for the website purposes, but for my bottomless pit baby, I freeze in muffin tins. He’s a little piggy! (Not really- he jus eats well and has a super high metabolism. Hardly chunky at all!)
Since I survived OAMC for baby food, next weekend is the Paleo menu. Can’t wait to report how I do!
