Well well well. It has been a while since I posted, for good reason. First off, my kiddos are super busy right now. My oldest turned twelve and we had a birthday party (two) to plan, one being a sleepover. My littlest will turn two in just a few days, so there’s another party. My birthday is also lumped in there! Party party party!
Derby is this coming weekend and I had every intention on throwing a Derby party. Pinterest had been my number one viewed site on my google home page all last month, burning it up looking for party ideas. Alas, life took over and I got too overwhelmed and had to cancel my party. I had a lot of good ideas, but unfortunately they will have to wait until next year.
What has gotten me so overwhelmed? Too many hours at work, my commute every day, other obligations…life has become too busy and not enjoyable. Moments are enjoyable , but overall, when every single day is a rush to get all tasks completed including chores like laundry and dishes, it can leave one wanting for more. I ended up cutting someone out of my life a few weeks ago to make more time for my kids and myself, and surprisingly that made me happier and have more time. Sometimes breakups are necessary, but of course that time was filled by other tasks, people, and events. Will I ever get ahead?
Thrifting has been a constant throughout all this, and cooking. I have continued to do both because they make me happy. Writing does as well but I haven’t had time to just sit down and do it. Something I have had time to do from this thrifting is list a lot of my thrifting finds on eBay. All I have had to do is take a couple photos of the items and it takes less than five minutes to post the item from the nifty little iPhone app. The things I am finding are just “stuff” and from finding so much “stuff,” I’ve realized it is all very replaceable!
My new ebay store is RA Designer Digs. We find designer clothing while out thrifting and post our finds for sale on eBay. It is a fun way to supplement my income. While I’m out “sourcing,” I’m actually shopping! And to start, I really didn’t need to “source” any further than my closet. It was almost embarrassing, the amount of Lilly Pulitzer, Dior, Stuart Weitzman, and Coach I pulled out that I didn’t even remember I had bought. A couple of friends wanted their stuff to be consigned in the store, so that’s a side biz that sort of developed in the last week.
I’ll keep everyone updated on the progress of the store! Lots of items are starting to end. I never knew shopping the way I have been the last few months could be so profitable!
