Everyone knows that October is Breast Cancer Awareness month but what many don’t know is that the month of October is also National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness month. This is something that is near and dear to my heart.
I have had two angel babies, babies taken before I could even hold them in my arms. Not only is this month a month to make others aware of pregnancy losses, it is also the month that I lost both of my babies. The first was in October 2006 and the second in October 2010.
In 1988 President Ronald Reagan declared the month of October as a time to remember the babies lost to soon. In 2007 October 15th was designated as a day when people all across the country takes a moment to recognize those babies lost.
Did you know that 1 in 4 pregnancies end in miscarriage or stillbirth?
Everyday 2,000 women in the U.S. lose a child to pregnancy or infant loss.
