Last Wednesday night we hosted our first Lose Your Booty Twitter Party which was actually our first Twitter party ever to host! It was a fun, fast 30 minutes. In case you didn’t get a chance to join us we wanted to share some of the topics of discussion with you.
1. Food Prepping
Several party participants shared that this was their trick to success, to have meals and snacks prepped ahead of time. I know for myself if I spend an hour or so each week preparing foods and separating them into appropriate serving sizes I am more likely to have a successful dieting week. I prep snacks and lunches for the week so that I can grab and go in the mornings. If I have them ready to go and don’t have to spend time in the mornings getting my food ready then I am more likely to take my lunch and snacks which helps me avoid the cafeteria and vending machines at work.
2. Increase Your Exercise
Calories in, calories out is a simple strategy. Burning more calories not only brings you closer to your weight loss goal but it also improves your overall health. Party participants shared that they enjoy Zumba and Yoga. Did you know you can find FREE fitness videos on Youtube? If you have HuluPlus you can also watch (or exercise along with) several fitness videos on Hulu.
3. Overcoming Challenges
Any time you try to make changes in your life, whether it’s a healthier diet, quitting smoking, alcohol, exercise, or even going to bed early their will always be obstacles and challenges that pop up. During the party we shared what some of our challenges are that we are facing. For some it was battling their sweet tooth cravings or addictions to french fries! For others it was finding the time to exercise.
