International Bereaved Mother’s Day
Sunday, May 1st, 2016 is International Bereaved Mother’s Day. It’s a day to honor the mother’s who are not able to celebrate with their child but should still be honored.
It’s a Hard Topic
One of the hardest questions I deal with is when someone asks me “do you have kids”. The easy answer is to say “no” and just go on about my business. Most people can’t handle hearing the whole story anyways. But what I want to say is “yes I do have children”. Just because they are not here on this Earth. Just because I never rocked them to sleep at night. Just because I never bandaged their boo boos and kissed away their tears, I am still a mother.
You see, I have two children, a son and a daughter. Both were lost before they took their first breath outside the womb. Just because I don’t have a child that you can see, doesn’t mean I’m not a mother.
Happy Mother’s Day to ALL Mothers.
