Here at Two Chics, we like to socialize. A couple weeks ago we realized something was missing…people!
The whole purpose of social media and having a blog is to engage with others. To share ideas. And to generally have fun and learn from people different from you! We have started to engage, and it’s paying off!
Twitter has been so much fun. Hash tag chats are a great way to learn about new blogs. We try to catch #blogchat every week, for example. Sometimes people like Darren Rowse (@problogger) drops in and the chat is led by Mack Collier (@mackcollier). Great people to follow on Twitter!
We have connected with new bloggers, learned stories of interesting people, and been connected with new brands. The best part is these people will chat with you! It’s a great way to network and grow your own brand.
Without even realizing it, we grew from about 500 followers to almost 900 seemingly overnight. Traffic, although minimal from Twitter, is being driven to our blog. It’s a really neat way to connect.
What is our next venture? Growing our “brand” on Facebook. We haven’t had much luck so far with Facebook, but statistics show that less than 1% of followers come from social media, most come from search engines. Regardless of this we are having a blast.
