Create Your Own Man Bouquet
Valentine’s is coming up and if you are like me you have a hard time finding a gift for the men in your life. Why are men so hard to buy for? Here’s an idea that you can easily make at home and can customize to fit the tastes of each person. Its a Man Bouquet! If you’ve been following us for awhile you may have seen my post awhile back on creating your own fruit bouquets. If not, check it out here: Make it Monday: Creating Your Own Fruit Bouquets.
Here is how I made this man bouquet. Keep in mind these can be customized for each persons tastes.
I started out with a trip to the liquor store and the Dollar Tree. I stocked up on tiny bottles of alcohol, candy, beef jerky, a bucket, styrofoam and a couple other items to put in the basket.
Next I needed something to use as a filler in the bottom of the bucket so I crumpled up the brown paper bag from the liquor store and placed it in the bottom. You could also use crumbled newspaper, wrapping paper, or even plastic grocery bags.
Next I placed the round styrofoam ball on top of the brown paper bag that was stuffed in the bottom of the bucket.
I didn’t want the styrofoam to show through so I used tissue paper to cover the ball. This also filled in the gap between the ball and the edge of the bucket. It doesn’t have to be neat because you are going to cover it
Then I was ready to start actually creating the bouquet. While I was working I had my hot glue gun warming up so by now it was ready to use. Using the glue gun I placed a strip of hot glue along the back of each bottle of alcohol and placed a wooden skewer onto the glue. You will need to let the bottles lay on their sides and cool for awhile so that the skewer is glued on really good. I also added a small bag of jerky and a set of earbuds so I hot glued those to a skewer as well. If you wanted to dress up the plain wooden skewers you could cover them with some Washi Tape.
Once your glue is dry you can start arranging the skewers into the styrofoam. I started in the middle and worked around the ball. You can vary the height of the skewers so that everything is not the same height.
Step back, take a look and fill in any gaps you see and there you have your easy to create man bouquet.
The beauty of these bouquets is that they can be customized for each man’s preferences. Maybe you have a man who doesn’t drink, just leave off the alcohol. Are you creating a bouquet for a man who works long hours? How about placing some 5 Hour Energy Drinks in place of the alcohol! Is your man an avid fisherman? You could include some fishing lures, bait, hooks, and bobbers in the bouquet. For the grillmaster, throw in some grilling tools or seasonings.
There are so many ways to customize these bouquets which makes them the perfect gift for those hard-to-buy-for men!
