If you had a great idea, you can crank out a great article (copy) in no time!
I’m a busy mom, with an infant and a middle schooler with lots of after school activities. The house needs cleaned, I work 40+ hours a week with a total 1.5 hours commute per day, children that need attention, food to be cooked, groceries need to be bought. Most of the time, I don’t have time to shave my legs. But..I have time to write. It’s all about budgeting your time!
One reason is that I love it. When you love something, you can find a way. I can find a lot of time in a day to work on a piece of copy.
When do I write?
-Lunch break at work (30 minutes.)
-Sitting at a red light (you know those long lights that last 7 minutes at a busy intersection. If I get stuck at the beginning of a 7 minute light, I have 2-3 minutes to write a few sentences.
-Nap time! Sir Poops-A-Lot is sleeping now!)
-Any time I get to work a few minutes early. Overtime is frowned upon where I spend my 40 hours a week. If I hit the parking lot 10 minutes early, I have 5-6 minutes to work on a paragraph.
-During dance class. If my daughter is dancing, and the baby is being cooperative (AKA distracted by Thomas the Train on Netflix) I can steal a few minutes for myself and possibly compose an entire post for the blog.
-Right before bed, when all is quiet in the house. Everyone is asleep at this time. The chores are done, clothes are laid out for the next morning, and I have a few minutes. Depending on when I have to get up the next day, there might be time to write and schedule a couple articles.
You CAN find time to write! With all of this time, photos can be added, a link to Twitter and Facebook and Pinterest, you can check your SEO, and schedule a few posts to social media from HootSuite! Even if you are busy, a blog can be a reality in your life if your passion is writing! Budget your time and minutes can add up to several posts in one day.
