This month I’m participating in my first DietBet challenge. I’ve been working for awhile now to lose weight and get healthy but I had never heard of DietBet until Kristin at Exploring Domesticity mentioned it on her site one day.
What Is DietBet?
According to their website www.dietbetter.com, DietBet is a whole new way to lose weight that they are calling “Social Dieting”. With DietBet there is money on the line to help motivate you to lose weight, but it’s not like those weight loss competitions at your job where the winner takes all.
DietBet has 2 types of games, the DietBet 4 and the DietBet 10. With the DietBet 4, everyone puts a set amount of money in the pot. You have 4 weeks to lose 4% of your body weight. At the end of the 4 week time frame, everyone who has hit the 4% goal is a winner and splits the pot of money!
With the DietBet 10 your goal is to lose 10% in 6 months in order to be able to split the pot with the other winners.
The Skinny Mom DietBet
I am participating in The Skinny Mom DietBet hosted by Brooke Griffin, the CEO and Founder of Skinny Mom. Right now the pot in this challenge is up to $11,875! I plan to bring home a chunk of that for myself!
With one week down I am halfway to my goal. For my body weight, 4% equals about 9 pounds. When I weighed myself yesterday I had lost 4 pounds. Only 5 more pounds to go to reach my goal. Will I stop there? No, I will continue on towards my big goal and my next DietBet challenge.
