I don’t know about where you live but around here wire mesh wreathes are very popular and unless you make one yourself you are going to pay a good chunk of change for your wreath. Heck even if you do make it yourself the wire mesh ribbon is not cheap!
I have been wanting something new for my front door for awhile now but just couldn’t figure out what I wanted. Yesterday I was in a local store that sells the wire mesh ribbon as well as wreathes that they make there, when inspiration struck!
The silver mesh is from a bow that I made for my Christmas tree a couple of years ago.
The pink mesh I already had on hand from other wreathes I had made.
The green mesh I bought yesterday.
I also had a wire coat hanger, floral wire, and scissors.
The first thing I did was to straighten out the wire coat hanger. I kept the curved part at the top and bent it on down to make a loop. this is the part I will use to hang on my wreath hanger on my front door.
Next I used the silver mesh and the floral wire. I just worked my way down the coat hanger, making the mesh “puffy” and then attaching it with wire. I used a big enough piece of wire so that each time I attached it to the hanger I could also twist the wires together from the previous loop. That kept it in place and kept it from just sliding down the wire hanger.
Next I did the same thing with the pink mesh, filling in the gaps from the silver. I then added the green ribbon and the orange flowers and now I have new spring door decor.
