I made these easy clover yeast rolls this year for Thanksgiving dinner with the in-laws and my father-in-law didn’t believe these were made from scratch!
Clover Yeast Rolls
1/2 Cup warm water (110 degrees F)
1/2 Cup warm milk
1/3 cup butter, softened
1/3 cup white sugar
1 tsp salt
3 3/4 cups all purpose flour
1 package active dry yeast
1/4 cup butter, softened
Place water, yeast and 1 tsp sugar in bowl.
Melt butter in warm milk, add sugar.
Add both mixtures to mixing bowl and add egg and salt.
Mix. Add flour a little at a time.
Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface.
Divide dough in half and knead.
Grease side of large bowl. Return dough to bowl. Cover with damp kitchen towel.
Place in warm spot and allow to rise 1 hour.
Once dough has been allowed to rise, pinch off dough and roll into balls. Place three balls in each pre-greased muffin cup. Allow to rise again. (When I made these for Thanksgiving, they were not rising fast enough for me so I placed them in front of the fireplace to speed up the process.)
In the mean time, preheat oven to 400 degrees. Once dough has risen bake in preheated oven for 10-15 minutes until golden.
