Yesterday was Easter, or Resurrection Sunday. Unfortunately I was unable to go to church because I had to work. As I sat at work yesterday I was thinking about what resurrection really means. According to The Free Dictionary the word Resurrection means:
1. The act of rising from the dead or returning to life.
2. The state of one who has returned to life.
3. The act of bringing back to practice, notice, or use; revival.
What does that mean to me? It means that today I begin anew. The excuses I have used in the past are in the past. No more excuses. I have been working on losing weight and getting healthier for awhile now but I will really stick with it for awhile and then fall off the wagon. Much like someone who is very much involved in their church and attends on a regular basis but then the temptation of sleeping in on a Sunday morning is to much and they start slipping.
I have been following the Weight Watchers plan for quite some time now. I admit I don’t track my points on a daily basis but after you have followed the plan long enough you kind of already know what the points are for many of the foods that you eat and just mentally calculate your points. If I go to a restaurant I will look at their menu online before I go (if one is available) and calculate WW Points so that I make a healthier choice once I get there. I am going to do better at calculating my points on a daily basis.
This morning I got up and went to the gym. I have a friend to work out with so that helps. As part of the new me I will be going to the gym on a regular basis (at least 4 times a week). I don’t go to work until 2PM so I have plenty of time in the mornings and the gym is not crowded at that time of day so I can’t use that as an excuse!
